Costa Rican activities to do in and around Montezuma…

Montezuma is one of the most fascinating travel destinations in Costa Rica. It is
known for its alternative and international culture, energetic Costa Rica nightlife, spectacular natural beauty, waterfalls, unique shops and galleries.

Ylang Ylang Beach Resort offers access to Costa Rica tours for the Curú Wildlife Refuge, snorkeling, scuba diving and horseback riding. For those that want to live in the moment through meditation, Ylang Ylang has some of the best ocean view yoga in Costa Rica. Others may simply choose to have their breath taken away with the exhilaration of canopy flying or experiencing the thrills of Costa Rica nightlife.

The tours in Montezuma offer hiking, quadracycling, boating, and fishing. Guests also have access to local shopping and cuisine, but many choose to just simply relax with our hotel amenities such as the Spa Ylang Ylang. We’re just waiting for you to join us in paradise.

Tortuga Island Snorkeling Day Trip

Horseback Riding on the Beach

ATV Adventure
-Take the adventurous route to explore the surrounding areas… a self-guided ATV tour (All Terrain Vehicle)
-Drive along country roads and through tropical forests

-If you’re a hiker, Cabo Blanco Reserve is down the road from Montezuma

Sport Fishing
-The abundant marine life off the tropical Pacific Coast makes Costa Rica one of the world’s top fishing destinations
-The coastal waters are home to yellow-fin tuna, mackerel, jacks & mahi-mahi while deeper out you may find sailfish, wahoo & marlin

Cabo Blanco National Park
-This National Park is located just 7km from our resort
-The first national park founded in Costa Rica, great for hiking!

1) Local Diving at Ballena Bay – 8:00am – 12:00pm
-2 tanks: $100 per person (min 2 pers)
2) Private Dive Tour to Tortuga Island – 8:00am – 4:00pm
-2 tanks: $450 (up to 3 people). $50 per additional person after 3.
3) Discover Scuba Diving (for non-certified divers)
-2 tanks: $150 per person (min 2 pers)

Montezuma Waterfalls (Free)
-Hike to the famous 3 tier waterfall of Montezuma
-Walk up the river path to enjoy the large swimming hole and the tallest waterfall
-For the adventurous, you can climb to the top 2 pools but be prepared for a narrow path against the cliff
-We discourage jumping from the rocks as it is slippery & dangerous
-Journey time from Ylang Ylang: About 35 minutes

El Chorro Waterfall (Free)-
Our area’s famous waterfall… one of the seven waterfalls in the world that drops into the ocean
-A beautiful walk along deserted beaches & through jungle trails
-Climb to the top for a break & a stunning panoramic view
-What to bring: Lots of water & sunscreen
-We recommend to start your journey early in the morning when the weather is cooler
-Journey time from Ylang Ylang: 1 hour 30 minutes (one way)

Playa Grande (Free)
-Enjoy the walk weaving through the jungle and onto the beaches
-A long, seemingly endless beach great for sunbathing
-Soft waves for boogie boarding, surfing or just a dip

Piedra Colorada River (Free)
-A swimming hole edged with sand made of unique colored rocks
-Climb up the river path to small waterfalls & a shady swimming hole
